JOB TITLE:                  Program Director, Transitional Living Community (TLC)

REPORTS TO:              Area Director of Residential Services


ORGANIZATION:  Weston United Community Renewal, Inc. is a not for profit organization located in Harlem, New York. For over 30 years, Weston United has provided housing and supportive services to participants with histories of chronic homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse. Weston United employs over 100 employees who contribute to a rich and diverse work environment.

Weston United is seeking a Program Director responsible for administration and clinical direction of the TLC -- 40-bed homeless shelters program for adults.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Coordinate and oversee the implementation of clinical and social services to individuals who are severely mentally ill and homeless with the primary goal of housing.  Direct and manage the day to day activities of the shelter and ensure the care, welfare, safety, and security of both staff and consumers. Ensure data is accurately entered into the Social Service related digital information systems and that all staff are properly trained; supervise the completion, submission and referral of all HRA1020E housing packets, complete and submit weekly and monthly reports; Participate in all regulatory meetings to address delivery of services and client issues. Develop and maintain a comprehensive mental health support program for clients while residing in the shelter. Provide direct supervision to management team and reviewing and monitoring staff performance, providing verbal and written feedback including staff evaluations and performance management.  Represent the organization at external meetings and work closely with contract agencies DOHMH and DHS.

 QUALIFICATIONS:  This position requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) with NYS Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and at least 1 years of supervisory experience. A minimum of two years’ experience working with adults with a history of severely and persistent mental illness and/or co-existing disorders of mental illness substance abuse. Candidates must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel; experience with AWARDS or CARES preferred; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
